ABSTRACT: Schizophrenia is characterized by a high percentage of disability and is one of the
most economically costly diseases, which determines its social significance. According to the
World Health Organization, schizophrenia affects approximately 24 million people, or 1 in 300
people (0.32%) worldwide.
The determination of different models of the quality of life in schizophrenia, suicidal tendencies,
and equivalent autoaggressive-destructive actions, and the assessment of the impact of
adaptiogenesis on social and labor activity plays an important role in the process of rehabilitation
of patients with paranoid schizophrenia.
The purpose of the scientific research was to study the clinical, and socio-psychological aspects
of the quality of life of patients with schizophrenia, as well as to assess the main characteristics of
the quality of life and social adaptation in terms of rehabilitation tasks.
The study involved 128 (56 males and 72 females) patients with paranoid schizophrenia with the
age range from 20 to 49 years who are hospitalized in a clinical psychiatric hospital in Tashkent.
Average age 45.22±11, 39 years. Inclusion criteria: diagnosis F20 Paranoid schizophrenia
according to the ICD-10 diagnostic criteria, absence of severe psychotic symptoms, and informed
consent to participate in the study.
To study the quality of life of the examined patients, a short version of the World Health
Organization's Quality of Life (WHO QOL-BREF) questionnaire was used, consisting of 26
questions. 24 of them are grouped into 4 scales, and 2 questions (first and second) are taken into
account in isolation.
The assessment of the parameters of the quality of life and social functioning during the
implementation of a complex of treatment and rehabilitation measures for patients with
schizophrenia contributes to a more differentiated approach to rehabilitation and the
development of optimal therapeutic strategies.
