ABSTRACT: According to WHO recommendations, COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new
coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. WHO first became aware of this novel virus on 31 December
2019 when a cluster of "viral pneumonia" cases was reported in Wuhan, China. The most common
symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, dry cough, fatigue, loss of smell or taste, nasal congestion,
conjunctivitis (or redness of the eyes), sore throat, headache, and other unspecific symptoms. In
this article, we analyze the role of interleukin-17 in COVID-19.
