Results of combined treatment of brain astrocytoma

ABSTRACT:     The article shows a combination treatment of brain astrocytomas of the brain: an analysis of surgery + radiation therapy. The single dose of light therapy was 2 Gr, the total radiation dose SOD was 60Gr, and the duration of treatment was on average. Out of 88 patients, 52 (59,1%) patients are alive, and 36(40,9%) patients died. Out of 52 patients, 49 (94,2%) have no recurrence of the disease and 3(5,8%) patients have been living with the disease for 12 to 86 months. After combined treatment in 88 patients, recurrence of the tumor was observed in 36(40,9%) patients from 12 to 86 months, in 5(5,7%) patients with the continued growth of the tumor, and in 1(1,1%) patient tumor metastasis to the brain was observed. Relapse of the tumor was conditionally accepted as the recurrence of the disease after 6 months and continued growth of the tumor up to 6 months.
