ABSTRACT:     Every year, 10 to 20 million children are born worldwide with congenital anomalies. At the same time, the lower the mortality rate from asphyxia, birth trauma and infections, the higher the proportion of congenital malformations. To study the nature of complications and outcomes in children with congenital malformations of the gastrointestinal tract before and after surgical treatment. We examined 60 newborns up to 2 months of age with congenital malformations of the gastrointestinal tract. To study the causes of mortality, a retrospective analysis was carried out for 2019-2021. 292 case histories of newborns with malformations of the gastrointestinal tract. For diagnostic purposes, clinical, laboratory and instrumental research methods were carried out. Statistical processing of the obtained material was carried out. Among the complications in newborns with CM in the postoperative period, bronchopneumonia develops in 55.0% of cases, esophagitis in 46.7%, intestinal paresis and adhesions in 25.0%. In the vast majority of cases, the cause of death in 91.7% of children was bronchopneumonia, in 75.0% - multiple organ failure syndrome. The results obtained on the incidence of complications in newborns and the causes of death, depending on the level of damage to the gastrointestinal tract in congenital malformations, can help improve therapeutic and tactical measures with the organization of qualified care and full rehabilitation.
